M.Ameen is the writer (lyricist) and music composer. He originally works as a psychiatrist and soundwave therapy specialist (music therapy). Such job gave him a broader and different view to the everyday events. The reason of making "Tales of emotional decay" band was presenting the lyrics and the philosophy that came in the form of inspiration in the early adulthood of m.Ameen .
In 2006, the music was made as a one man band (solo project) since that m.Ameen didnot find the right members to share his vision at that time.
In january 2007, a full band was made playing the first live concert in Alexandria,Egypt.The concert was quiete successfull, played a 45 minutes one story show. It was risky to play doom metal live hence the low tempo, yet the music was highly detailed enough that it made up for such a problem.
Concerning the music genre, Tales Of Emotional Decay band mainly plays oriental doom metal. It went through a lot of transitions and upgrades like adding brainwave entrainment technology and different time signatures with different drum fillings and powerfull bass lines added by the bassist "Ehab Elgendy" that joined the band 2 years ago.
Ehab Elgendy added a death metal polyrythmic touch rendering the music more progressive and more alive. He played in a heavy metal band called "monocyte" and a rock band called "pause" before joining "Tales of emotional decay" and that was a wonderfull experience for him to know what to add and what to avoid.
Concerning the drums; about 4 drummers joined the band before and that was problematic because every drummer that played in the band couldnot share the vision that m.Ameen had until karim zidan joined the band.
Karim started playing drums since he was 15. Now he is studying music production. He believes that doom metal is the most direct expression of mental agony therefore not fake. He is influenced by a large vaiety of genres like; technical death metal and some djend bands like; "meshuggah","periphey" and "tesseract".
Adham Sherif is the rythm guitarist who was more into psychedelic,funeral and drone doom. Adham had past interests in folk an classical music too.He is highly creative and loves to get into the deep and sick parts of human psyche.
Khaled Elmeligy is a graphic designer that joined the band lately and now is making the whole Art work project for the band. Artwork has a major role in Tales of emotional decay and the band is proud to have such great artist.
